New Book by Betz White!

I am so excited! Betz White just announced her new book is coming out Sewing Green!
I absolutely LOVE her book Warm Fuzzies using felted sweaters to make all sorts of things! I haven't made anything yet, mostly been drooling over all the projects and collecting wool sweaters at the thrift store. I think today will be the day that I will actually make something out of the book!!! So click on sewing green up top and check it out. This will for sure be a new book to add to my collection!

I am having so much fun making kitty cat toys for our kitties, and to sell on etsy. Our cat, Misha, (pictured here smelling and rubbing on the her new favorite toy!) is sleeping with my latest creation, an organic cat nip fortune cookie toy. I have so many others I am planning on making over the weekend! I also want to finally get my felted sweaters out and make a fun creation out of Betz White's book warm fuzzies (look for Betz's blog in my favorite blogs section). I really want to make the hot dog doggie sweater for Chelsea, even though she really doesn't like to wear clothes, she's a tomboy! Maybe she would wear a coat that Mommy makes for her? I'll keep you posted.
I have so many projects that I have bought supplies for that I really need to get busy doing. Today I bought our son a potholder loom to make some potholders with. I had asked him about them, and if he would like them, He decided to give it a try. I told the girl that I work with that I was going to see how it worked, and if he didn't like it I guess I would play with it and make the potholders, since I was buying extra loops for him. She said "Well I guess we know what everyone will be getting for Christmas next year! LOL She is so right!
I bought the loom from my work www.achildsdream.com Right now we have the looms, and loops on sale for a VERY good deal! We also have a lot of other really good deals, especially Tekapo yarn, and wildfoote sock yarn too, I drool every time I walk by the yarn, it is so cool, in the most awesome colors! So go check it out if you so desire! Until next post, happy crafting, housework can wait!

So go check it out: Gluten Free Fox

Valenties, Yeah I'm paper crafting again!

I haven't been stamping in so long, or even scrapbooking for that matter! So when my best friend invited me out to scrapbook last week I jumped at it. The problem? I have gotten so out of it that I had a total creativity block, so I decided to take some card making things out instead. WOW, did I have fun! It's been so long since I have done any type of paper crafting I didn't even miss it, I think I will start missing it now!

My New Crochet Hats!

I have had so much fun making patterns that I bought from Nutella Dreams Late night crafts on etsy. They work up so quick, and are so much fun to make.

I made the above beanie for me out of 2 different colors of Vanna's choice yarn. This was very fun and easy to make, and I love the way it turned out with the colors of yarn I chose.

I posted a couple of days ago about this newsboy cap that I made for my friends daughter. I loved it so much I decided to make one for me!

I used Vanna's choice yarn for this hat as well. I love this yarn because it's so nice to work with and the colors are a lot of fun. So go check out one of my new favorite etsy stores. She has some awesome patterns at great prices.

Homemade Doggie Biscuits!

Our sweet little Chelsea and our best friends dog, Penny, LOVE homemade biscuits. It's hard to tell which ones they like the best, I've made peanut butter, veggie, just a regular bone, and the cheesy bones, they seem to love them all!

I decided to start making my own dog bones when Chelsea & Penny got sick from eating store bought bones, so I started looking for recipes online. I finally put some recipes together after seeing some that I thought sounded good. Then I found a bone cookie cutter for under .50 cents, which makes about 70 bones. I recently found a little bit bigger cutter at a thrift store for 10 cents, this one makes about 50 bones. I have fun making these for the dogs, and the dogs love eating them hot out of the oven, well slightly cooler than warm out of the oven.

These are fun presents to give to your dog friends too. I'm thinking about doing some for valentines day, heart shaped of course! I sent the peanut butter bones out to my family for their dogs Christmas gifts, but I did a little gingerbread men instead of the bone cutter. I also sent out veggie bones in different sizes.

Here is the recipe for my favorite to make. They dough is really easy to work with, and the bones smell so good while baking....

"Chelsea's Cheesy Biscuits"

3 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk

1. Combine flour and garlic powder in mixing bowl.
2. Gradually add oil, cheese, milk and egg. Mix up into dough until well blended.
3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about a minute or 2.
4. Roll out dough to about 1/2" and cut with your favorite doggie cookie cutter.
5. Place on a lightly greased cookie sheet, I use butter flavored pam.
6. Bake at 400 for 20 to 25 minutes.
7. Cool on rack and store at room temp in a container with a loose fitting lid. I have an old cookie jar that
I use. The dogs know exactly where it is!

I hope that your dogs enjoy this recipe as much as ours do. I have a couple more that I will post when I
make them, I usually make dog biscuits every couple of weeks, so keep your eye out for the next one!

I've been having fun!!!

I have been busy, and having so much fun crocheting lately! I also made some really cool cards today to put in my etsy shop. I haven't done any paper crafting in so long, as the addiction to crocheting has consumed my life lately!! LOL.

I have been meaning to make some cup cozies for a long time, and just was able to work on this last week! I did have to make up my own pattern because the one that I downloaded came out way too big for the cup. I have another pattern to use with a mug, I can't wait to make that one!
I found this cool newsboy hat pattern at Nutella dreams late night crafts etsy shop. I have had so much fun making them! I will post a picture of the pink one that I am making tonight when I get it done. I just might have to keep it for me!! This one I made for my best friends daughter!
Here is a picture of her in her newsboy cap! What's so cool about this pattern is that you don't need to put a visor insert in it, the way it's stitched and the yarn used (Vanna's choice) makes it stiff enough to keep it's shape.

I also bought her pattern for the morgan beanie which I made for the hubby and my best friends son. I also bought her cowl pattern & kleenex box pattern, and she was sweet enough to give me Jessie's neckwarmer pattern. I have so many projects in the fire, and not enough time in the day to complete them!

Bringing the blog back to life.  Hey Friends!  I know it has been a super long time since I've been here, and I'm hoping that you w...
